May 1st Discounted Dues Deadline is Approaching

The deadline to pay your discounted 2020 HOA dues has been extended to May 1, 2020.  Up until that date, the basic membership is only $85, and the swim/tennis membership is $385.  After May 1, the rates will increase to $90 and $415 respectively.

For those of you who may be holding off on your swim/tennis membership given the concerns over COVID-19, the board has adopted the following policy for 2020.  If the COVID-19 pandemic delays the opening of the pool until mid-summer (early to mid-July) the board will refund one-half of the swim/tennis portion of your membership…or $150 under the discounted rate.  If the board is unable to open the pool at all this year, then the board will refund 100 percent of the swim/tennis portion of your membership…or $300 under the discounted rate.  It is the board’s hope that 1) this will not be the case, and 2) that this policy, if needed, will help to alleviate any uncertainty as you consider joining the HOA this year.

Pool Opening Delayed

At their April meeting, the Ashton Wood HOA Board delayed the opening of the pool until May 23rd, subject to the lifting of the Governor’s statewide shelter in place order which currently expires on April 30th, but may very well be extended.  As part of this delay, the community pool workday was also delayed until May 16th and the opening neighborhood pool party delayed until June 6th.  Again, all these dates are subject to the lifting of the Governor’s statewide shelter in place order and will be re-evaluated by the board at their May 11th meeting.

Yard of the Week Recognition Starting Soon

The Yard of the Week recognition will begin soon. The only requirements to be considered are your beautiful yard and Basic membership in the Ashton Wood HOA. Remember, the discounted Basic membership has been extended to May 1, but join now so your yard can be a contender and you can look forward to seeing your name and a picture of your award winning yard in the Ashton Wood Newsletter and enjoy seeing the Yard of the Week sign in your front yard.

Backyard Garden Tour Cancelled

At their April meeting, the Ashton Wood HOA Board cancelled the 2020 Backyard Tour that was scheduled for June 6.  While social distancing could certainly be maintained during this event, there was concern for the health of several of the usual participants.  The board plans to reinstate the event next year.

"Pay Early" Deadline Extended to May First

Dear neighbors,

Due to the ongoing concerns and financial uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, the Ashton Wood HOA Board is extending the “early pay” deadline for HOA Basic and Swim/Tennis memberships until May 1, 2020.   This means that the HOA basic early rate of $85 and the swim/tennis early rate of $385 are now applicable as long as they are postmarked by May 1, 2020.  At this time, payments postmarked after May 1 will be $90 and $415 respectively.

Final Reminder: HOA Graduate Banner Deadline April 6th

If your son or daughter is graduating from high school or college this year we would like to help you celebrate by including their information on our neighborhood GRADUATE BANNER that will be posted at the neighborhood front entrance in May.

In order to have a name listed, you must be a 2020 HOA Basic Member or a 2020 Swim/Tennis member. Please be sure to submit your membership dues full payment by April 6th at the drop box indicated on the membership form.
